DeFuniak Springs (Jan. 18, 2022) – Chelsea Blaich (Bl-ake) has joined CHELCO as the new Communications & Community Affairs Supervisor.

Blaich received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. It is there she met her husband Chase, a DeFuniak Springs native. Following graduation, the two moved back to the area and now reside in DeFuniak Springs, where they are raising their young son, Cooper.

Bringing over a decade of experience in marketing and public relations, Blaich most recently served as Executive Director for Main Street DeFuniak Springs, the 501c3 non-profit organization focused on the preservation and revitalization of the historic downtown business district. Under her leadership, the organization led initiatives related to promotions and special events, economic vitality, design, and beautification within its defined district. The organization was annually named an Accredited Main Street America Program for meeting rigorous performance standards. Additionally, the organization was voted the 2021 Small Business of the Year (North) by the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce members.

In her new role, Blaich will coordinate CHELCO’s communications program, including all design, development, production, and distribution of internal and external communications. She will be responsible for communication with members, employees, news media and the general public on the Cooperative’s positions, policies, programs and opportunities.

CHELCO is a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative serving more than 61,000 accounts in Walton, Okaloosa, Holmes and Santa Rosa counties.
