Won't you help your neighbors keep their lights on? You can help CHELCO members who are struggling to pay their electric bill.
The Members Helping Members program lets you give a one-time donation or set a recurring monthly contribution amount of your choice and have it added to your electric bill.
Your donation will help eligible CHELCO members during times of financial hardships. This assistance can only be provided to eligible members once per 12 months and is not a subsidy. Administrated by the Walton Okaloosa Council on Aging, Members Helping Members is available to CHELCO members who meet financial criteria for assistance without consideration to age.
How do I get help paying my electric bill?
The first step is to contact us BEFORE your account becomes delinquent.
We have payment options that may better suit your situation or perhaps we can work out a short-term payment arrangement. If we cannot help you find a solution, we will refer you to the Walton Okaloosa Council on Aging, (850) 892-8165, to see if you are eligible for assistance through Members Helping Members.
The Walton Okaloosa Council on Aging may also be able to direct you to other organizations in our community that offer financial and other support.
