Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CHELCO) recently received a score of 88 in the annual American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI®) rating that was measured as part of CHELCO’s member satisfaction survey and calculated by ACSI*. CHELCO’s score places the not-for-profit electric cooperative in the upper quartile among the electric cooperatives that participated in the National Survey on the Cooperative Difference and received an ACSI score.
This score surpasses the national electric cooperative average of 74 for cooperative energy utilities. Additionally, CHELCO and electric co-ops nationwide scored significantly higher than the industry average of 72 for investor-owned utilities.
This achievement reflects CHELCO’s ongoing commitment to providing safe, reliable and affordable energy to its members, as well as its focus on increasing member engagement and identity.
“We value our members’ feedback and support,” said CEO Steve Rhodes. “This score demonstrates our consistency in delivering excellent service, being responsive to members’ needs and being good stewards of member resources.”
These annual surveys help cooperatives gain valuable insights into how well they are meeting member expectations, allowing them to measure the effectiveness of their programs and services.
“As a member-owned cooperative, it’s imperative that we listen to our members’ input and plan according to their needs,” Rhodes said. “I appreciate those who took the time to participate in these surveys, as well as those who conducted them. The data that has been provided will be utilized in both short- and long-term planning, ensuring that we continue to meet members’ needs and expectations.”
CHELCO is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative serving more than 62,000 accounts in Walton, Okaloosa, Holmes and Santa Rosa counties.
