Outage Alert: PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, CHELCO’s wholesale power provider, is currently experiencing an outage on the transmission line that feeds CHELCO’s Red Bay Substation. Approximately 1,350 members are currently without power as a result. Crews have located a broken crossarm on a transmission pole. Repairs are expected to take several hours, but we are working to reroute power where possible so we can restore service to as many members as possible while repairs are underway.
